Behind the Business
One thing I’ve always enjoyed about investing is learning about businesses.
Whenever I come across an interesting company, I naturally want to understand how it works. How does it make money? Why do customers keep coming back? What makes it different from its competitors? And what could go wrong?
The problem is that there are far more interesting companies than I have time to study in depth.
In the summer of 2026, I started wondering if AI could help speed up that first step.
After a lot of trial and error, I built a process that turns company information into simple lessons that help me quickly understand the basics of a business before deciding whether I want to spend more time digging deeper.
It worked well enough that I kept using it.
Over time, what started as a tool for my own learning turned into Behind the Business.
The goal is simple: to make it easier to understand what a company does, how it makes money, who its customers are, and what makes the business interesting in the first place. Think of it as a starting point before getting into financial statements, valuation ratios, and all the other details investors often focus on.
I hope these stories help make businesses a little easier to understand and a little more fun to learn about.
